Here's a video of my ride today. After the rains of last night came the Sunshine (long may it last!), trails were greasy this am on Section 102 but dried up in time this afternoon for me to ride some dry rock slabs on Kill Me Thrill Me one of my favorite trails in Whistler. (The double diamond rock was a bit too greasy for me to risk on my own but I did the lower woodwork feature instead and the rock on that was pretty greasy too but way shorter so I could lay off the brakes completely).
I was happy that I managed to ride over the little log ride with the steps roll off ramp- I didn't manage it last year. I also got some great lines down all the rock descents near the powerlines cleaned it all this year- better on my Zesty than my big Cove from last year. There's a great new ladder roll where the steep rock/ladder used to be - it's quite steep and curvy and gets your speed up for the jumps shortly after.
I really enjoyed this ride so had to capture some of it.
Back at our pad I found an injured Matt. He'd had a battle with a tree on HOD and came off worst. I feared a break to his forearm so took him to the med centre where they relieved him (his insurance company at least) of $800 to get it X-rayed but fortunately no break just tissue damage and a huge swollen arm. Let's hope he can get back on his bike before he leaves on Saturday.
Parky's brother Si and friends (Will, Jase, Paul) have moved in for the week and came back drunk at 7:3o and a very merry bunch they are. Will was walking around half naked and managed to get me to sort out a hot shower for him. I expect to hear from them again in the early hours of tomorrow morning!! (They already apologised for it)
