Birthday Ride and Cake

This will be a shot that is hard to come by again in the future as Ken has his green card and is off to the US tomorrow but luckliy we got the gang together for a birthday ride for me and despite the yukky forecast of wind and rain, the storm blew itself out overnight and we had blue skies and sunshine for our mud fest!

We rode from Peaslake over Pitch and Winterfold and then back to peaslake for tea. Then over to Holmbury with some playing on singletrack here and there.  The tarils were pretty slimy,not deep mud but a surface mud that sometim

es led to 2 wheel slides - always entertaining! The switchbacks and off camber routs were fun! BKB was a great run down to finish the ride- still fast and flowy with enough wet roots to catch the unaware ones!

We finished at the famous Peaslake village store (of course) for tea and my cake, well earned and 2 pieces for everyone! 

The sun slowly dropped in the sky and we started to shiver.

Then Pete, Is, Ken and I went back to mine to play Wii bowling, unwrap some more cool pressies and go out for a grown up element of my weekend finally - a meal and beer at Cafe Rouge with the great 2 meals for

 price of 1 

deal!

I truly have had a wonderful weekend surrounded by family and best friends, it was such fun!
